HOMEWORK DEADLINES 2005

15.3.2005 is the deadline for returned homework
Homework should be returned by e-mail to course assistant or to the course P.O. Box at the second floor of the E-wing before March 15th.
After all homework is returned they will be delivered to the author for grading. It will be informed later how this is arranged.


22.4.2005 is the deadline for graded homework and own homework solutions

Graded homework, and the solutions for your own homework(s), should be returned by email or to the course P.O Box before April 22nd. All the homework should be graded from 0 to 10.
After that the final grades will be given. To pass the course, you should get at least 36% from the maximum points and with 84% you will obtain 4.5. Between these values the grade will be determined linearly.

Presentation Channel capacity and MIMO capacity, which has calcelled on 25.1., will be given in the last session 15.2. Therefore, additional 30 minutes is needed. Sorry for the inconvenience!

This course is one of the postgraduate courses offered by the Communications Laboratory. The topic is changing yearly and this year the topic is Physical layer methods in wireless communication systems. It is possible to carry out this course multiple times.


A prerequisite for this course is knowledge corresponding to a major in communications on the Master’s level.

The course comprises weekly seminars mainly based on the participants’ oral presentations of written contributions to given topics. Each presentation should include homework. The homework is graded by the presenter of each topic at the end of the course. The course grade in mainly based on the quality of the presentations and written contributions, and on the amount of correct homework returns. If necessary, an exam can also be arranged.

The credits of the course can vary within the given range depending on the amount of work by the participants, i.e. number of oral presentation and problems.
