Registration

Register with WWWTopi or if you do not have an account there, by e-mail to s72400@hut.fi . One may also enroll the course by contacting the head assistant during the first lecture if one cannot send e-mail. The registration deadline for problem-based groups is September 13th, 1999 - note that the problem-based groups work in Finnish, so fluency is required. Weekly exercises and the literature exam are available also in English.

The opening lecture is held on Friday, September 10th, 1999.

Lectures and meetings

Lectures are on Fridays 10-12 in hall I256 at the Dept. of Electrical Engineering, starting from Sept. 10th, 1999. On Oct. 29th, no lecture is given.The final lecture is on Nov. 5th, 1999.

Literature exam students meet three times:

• Sept. 10th, 1999, 13.15 at Otakaari 8 before starting individual studies
• as the assignment begins on Oct. 22nd, 8.30-10 also at Otakaari 8
• participation in the poster session on Nov. 5th, 10-12 at the lecture hall I256 is strongly recommended

Students taking weekly exercises have voluntary meetings on Fridays (Sept. 17th - Oct. 29th) 8.30-10 at Otakaari 8, in the seminar hall on the 1st floor.

There are three groups for problem-based learning, each has two weekly sessions:

There are no regular reception hours - the personnel is available during lecture breaks and upon request (all e-mail addresses are listed on the personnel page).

Final examination

The final exam is the same for all students. Exams are held during examination weeks and after the course ends in November.
